First of all, thanks for finding your way here, however that happened.

So…

I’m an aspiring (although I don’t like that word much) screenwriter, working on my first feature script. The first draft is done, so now the real writing (read rewriting) begins. The multitude of issues I’m coming up against have lead to the formation of this blog.

Let’s get one thing out of the way, in case it isn’t already clear: this is not a “How To” screenwriting blog. I’m nowhere near the level of instructing anyone on how to go about this. My purpose here is simply to chronicle, examine, deliberate, and generally vent about the stumbling blocks I encounter while rewriting. It’s my hope that by externally processing and mulling over each proverbial “hurdle of the day,” it’ll help me work through it with greater ease and expediency.

(I’ll also be posting some fun incidentals, like movie and book reviews, etc.)

“Great, so what’s in it for me?” Good question. I also hope to reach others out there at similar stages with writing, or any creative endeavor, who can perhaps identify with some of my difficulties. Ultimately, I hope we can open up a dialog about the process and help each other out.
